Summary:
Our 11th session of 2024 held on the last Saturday of March and focused on book reviews. Participants selected books from the NextGen library, read them, and then shared their reviews.
Session Delivery:
After the environmental sanitation exercise, participants arrived one by one. An opening prayer was said, followed by the Itsekiri anthem.
Emmanuel Egbe led a quick review of the previous session and engaged participants with questions from that session.
Tosan Okandeji served as the librarian of the day, showing participants’ growing interest in taking up responsibilities.
Participants lined up in front of the library to choose their books, and the librarian recorded their names and book titles.
Once settled, everyone delved into their chosen books. They were encouraged to give their best in the review, as prizes were offered for the best presentations.
During the review, it was evident that all the books had something valuable to offer. Reviewers eloquently shared their insights, painting vivid pictures of the books’ contents.
As a reward for their participation, all reviewers received armored pens, motivating those who didn’t participate to join in next time.
