In this inaugural ICT session of the year, participants were introduced to essential Microsoft Word skills, focusing on inserting tables and shapes.
Session Delivery:
Laptops were strategically arranged across tables to optimize space, with sub-teams formed to ensure efficiency. The session commenced with an opening prayer followed by the rendition of the Itsekiri anthem.
Debi Amadedon took the lead after Emmanuel Egbe’s review of the previous session. She began by contextualizing the importance of ICT and revisiting past lessons, showcasing output devices like wireless mouse, external hard drives, and wireless keyboards.
Participants were guided to open their laptops, launch applications, and finally, Microsoft Word. Amadedon directed them to the “Insert” tab, where they learned to create tables of varying dimensions and manipulate them by adjusting size and adding text horizontally and vertically.
Eager participation was evident as attendees eagerly experimented with the exercises. Those proficient in the tasks assisted teammates, fostering collaborative learning. Volunteers provided support to those facing challenges, ensuring everyone grasped the concepts.
Towards the end, representatives from each team demonstrated their understanding at the central computer, showcasing competence. Those needing additional assistance received guidance until they mastered the tasks.
