Summary:
This session was designed to enhance participants’ strategic thinking and problem-solving skills through engaging maths and puzzle games.
Session Delivery:
Following the opening prayer and the Itsekiri anthem, a brief review of the previous programming session was conducted. Participants shared their excitement about designing a game from scratch and seeing it in action.
Debi Amadedon then introduced the maths fun game, distributing various printed games and puzzles to the participants to challenge their cognitive abilities. The printed materials were organized by group, and the facilitator explained how to approach each game.
Participants actively engaged their problem-solving skills to unravel the puzzles and tackle the maths challenges. They worked collaboratively, sharing ideas and asking questions to arrive at correct answers. After thorough discussions and brainstorming, they often found solutions to even the toughest questions.
When they encountered difficulties, participants approached the volunteers for assistance. The volunteers provided helpful hints without directly revealing the answers, encouraging the participants to think critically.
Through this engaging exercise, the young participants enhanced their problem-solving abilities and developed quicker, more strategic thinking skills.
