Session Highlights:

In preparation for the Itsekiri NextGen three-year anniversary, we held a special mask-making session. Participants unleashed their creativity, designing personalized masks for the upcoming celebration.

Facilitator Debi Amadedon led the session, providing all the necessary materials:

  • Embossed Cardboard Paper
  • Glitter Foam
  • Straws
  • Elastic Bands
  • Top Bond (Glue)
  • Cardboard Paper

Debi brought various mask templates, which participants used to trace their desired designs onto cardboard. They then decorated their masks using the provided materials, adhering them with glue.

Debi demonstrated three different mask designs, guiding participants through the process. The beautiful results inspired everyone to create their own unique masks. Once the designs were complete, participants visited Toju Ogharanduku to have the elastic bands attached, completing their creations.

The participants were thrilled to discover they could create party masks themselves, realizing the cost savings compared to purchasing pre-made masks. The session demonstrated the value and accessibility of creative expression.

Volunteers:

  • Debi Amadedon
  • Emmanuel Egbe
  • Jolomi Tedeye
  • Ani Toju Ogharanduku
  • Omatsola Okpeayaghan

Session Success:

The session was a resounding success, with no reported issues. Participants thoroughly enjoyed the hands-on experience and the opportunity to express their creativity.
