  • Activity: Third Anniversary Celebration & Mask Party
  • Organized by: Itsekiri NextGen Team

Event Highlights:

Participants, dressed in their finest attire, gathered at the designated pickup point, eagerly awaiting the bus that would transport them to Falcorp Park in Ijala. Emmanuel Egbe called out names from the participant list, verifying tickets and distributing masks with the help of Debi Amadedon. Once everyone was onboard, the bus set off for the park.

Upon arrival at Falcorp Park, participants received numbered tickets for re-boarding the bus later. A park guide welcomed the group and led them on a tour, showcasing the diverse flora and fauna of the mangrove park. For many of the children, this was their first visit, and their excitement was palpable. They enjoyed the park’s amenities, including swings and a merry-go-round, and participated in fun games organized by the volunteers.

A highlight of the day was the special appearance of Little Miss Abuja, Peace Deiware. The young queen delivered an inspiring message, encouraging the participants to persevere and strive for their dreams, sharing her own experiences of success in various competitions. She also generously provided drinks and t-shirts as gifts.

After the royal visit, the children continued enjoying games and dancing before gathering for food, drinks, and snacks. The coordinator then announced the winners of the “My Itsekiri NextGen Journey” essay competition. Congratulations to Rosemary Okechukwu (1st place), Success Tuedongheye (2nd place), and Emmanuel Okorie (3rd place)!

As the celebration drew to a close, participants boarded the bus according to their numbered tickets for the return trip home.
