Reconnecting and Re-energizing for a Year of Growth

Session Summary:

This welcome-back session served as a joyful reunion for participants, volunteers, and parents after the holiday break. It provided an opportunity to reconnect, review ground rules, and generate excitement for the year’s planned activities. This session contributes to the Social & Cultural Mandate by fostering a sense of community and belonging, and the Leadership Mandate by reinforcing rules and expectations for participation.

Session Details:

The first session of 2025 was a vibrant and energetic gathering. The excitement of reuniting after the holidays was palpable among everyone present.

The session commenced with a prayer of gratitude for the new year, followed by a spirited rendition of the Itsekiri anthem.

The coordinator warmly welcomed returning and new participants, emphasizing the importance of punctuality and consistent attendance. She then shared a glimpse of the exciting and impactful activities planned for 2025, promising a year filled with growth and opportunity.

To ensure a productive and respectful environment for all, the established ground rules were reviewed, with a clear message that adherence to these rules is expected.

The latter part of the session, led by Toju Ogharandukun, involved a lively sharing of holiday experiences. Volunteers and participants alike recounted their adventures, gifts received, and cherished memories. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and enthusiasm.

Stories ranged from road trips and water journeys to gifts of cash and toys, painting a picture of a joyful and fulfilling holiday period for all. This sharing of experiences strengthened bonds within the group and set a positive tone for the year ahead.
