Session Delivery
At our April book review session, we went digital. The participants sat quietly anticipating the stories for the day. When all was set, the stories were displayed in the order below ;
- The boy who always talks back.
revolves around a child, Max, who habitually responds rudely and disrespectfully to requests from his parents, teachers, and friends.
The story ended with Max making a conscious effort to change his behavior and showing respect and listening to others.

- Rumpelstiltskin.
A miller, desperate for wealth, tells a king that his daughter can spin straw into gold. The king, believing him, imprisons the daughter and demands she fulfill her alleged ability.
- The Emperor’s new clothes. This is about an emperor who cares for nothing but new clothes.
The Emperor gets taken advantage of when two weavers tell him that they can create a fabric that will reveal anyone unfit or too stupid for their role. This leads to everyone lying about their ability to see the fabric until ultimately, a child says that the Emperor is not wearing anything.
- The wind and the sun. the Wind and the Sun have a contest to see who can make a traveler remove his coat. The Wind attempts to force the traveler to take off his coat with strong gusts, but the traveler clings to his coat tighter. The Sun then gently warms the traveler, making him so comfortable that he removes his coat. The story teaches that gentleness and kindness can be more effective than force.
Participants were captivated by the stories, and the session concluded with thoughtful reviews. They shared new vocabulary and lessons learned, including. Debi
