Summary

The inaugural debate session was a success with participants showing exceptional preparation and insight on topics like “STEM vs Art subjects” and “project-based learning.” The session achieved its objectives, highlighting participants’ potential, argumentation skills, and key takeaways like the importance of STEM and benefits of project-based learning. 

Session Delivery

The inaugural debate session was a resounding success, with participants showcasing exceptional preparation and insight. Given two thought-provoking topics in advance – “STEM vs Art subjects: Which one is more critical for societal development?” and “More project-based vs less project-based learning” – participants demonstrated remarkable research and argumentation skills.

A debate video was screened to set the tone, and participants were called in pairs to present their arguments. Each pair delivered well-structured and informed presentations, impressing the coordinator and volunteers with their depth of knowledge. The competitive spirit was palpable, and the session culminated in a rewarding experience for all.

The coordinator’s enthusiasm was evident in the generous distribution of snacks and cash prizes to participants. The session achieved its objectives, providing a platform for participants to engage with critical issues, develop their argumentation skills, and learn from one another. Key takeaways included the importance of STEM subjects in driving societal development and the benefits of project-based learning.

Overall, the debate session was an engaging and educational experience that highlighted the participants’ potential and eagerness to explore complex topics. Their public speaking abilities are being nurtured and developed consistently.
