Session Delivery
It was an October edition book review session. Physical books weren’t used this time around as it was a digital book review session.
The books displayed for the participants are as follows;
- David and Goliath
- Cain and Abel
- Story of Lazarus
- Finding Hello
The general story was
Oliver Twist.
The participants were admonished to be attentive to all of the stories as they will get questions from them though more questions will be from the one assigned to each team.
They were also asked to take note of some questions to ask those coming out for the review. This is to get everyone engaged in the session.
David and Goliath’s story teaches about bravery and facing one’s challenges instead of being scared. David volunteers to fight the giant. Despite being young and unarmed except for a sling and stone .
The story of Cain and Abel teaches one to have control over anger and envy.
The story of Lazarus teaches that delay doesn’t equal denial.
The story ‘Finding Hello’ addresses social anxiety and shyness in children, helping them realize that their feelings are normal and that it’s okay to be a little scared to say hello.
The moral of the general story of Oliver Twist is that goodness is an inherent trait that can endure hardship and that a person’s moral character is determined by their nature, not their environment or social class.
Whilst the children came out for their review, questions were thrown at them by the facilitator and other participants. The facilitator also asked the other team members questions from the stories.

The review from the general story was quite competitive as each team was ready to outshine the other.
The participants went home refreshed with good morals from each of the stories.
