October this year, we celebrated a remarkable milestone - three years of empowering the next generation of Iwere Indigenes through the Iwere (Itsekiri) NextGen Initiative (ING)!Since its inception in 2021, the ING project has been dedicated to nurturing the potential of young Indigenes of Warri Kingdom and equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and values necessary to succeed in an ever-changing world.Over the past three years, we have witnessed tremendous growth, resilience, and positive transformation of our participants. We've seen them evolve into confident, innovative, and socially responsible young leaders poised to positively impact their communities.ING has held ~46 sessions annually with over 500 – 600 young participants already passing through our programs, providing a platform for intergenerational knowledge transfer, cultural exchange, and networking opportunities. We've facilitated workshops, training sessions, and mentorship relationships that have helped our youngsters develop essential life skills, explore their passions, and discover their purpose.As we celebrate this milestone, we are grateful for the unwavering support of Members of the ING steering committee and team of volunteers. What a wonderful celebration!Our Christmas/End-of-Year Party was a Resounding SuccessThe atmosphere was electric as our excited participants filled the air with joyful carols, songs, dance, and drama! Our amazing volunteers even joined in on the fun, showing off their best dance moves in a thrilling game.To top it all off, every single participant went home with a big smile on their face and a pack of wonderful gifts!We're so grateful to the steering committee, incredible team of volunteers, donors, and supporters who made this special day possible.
