2025 Session 20: May Book Review
Join us for our regular monthly May book review session at Itsekiri NextGen! This month, we’ll delve into a non-fiction book that helps us understand the world around us. Participants will engage with the selected book, then come together to share their insights, discuss characters, plot, themes, and the broader messages within the text. This collaborative review fosters critical thinking, enhances comprehension, and strengthens a love for reading.
This session relates to the following Itsekiri NextGen Mandate Areas:
- Literary Mandate: This session is a cornerstone of our Literary Mandate. It actively promotes a strong reading culture among young Itsekiris, enhancing their personal and intellectual development through consistent engagement with diverse literary works and encouraging thoughtful discussion.
- Social & Cultural Mandate: By discussing the themes and messages within books, participants often explore social issues, cultural values, and ethical considerations. This aspect of the session contributes to the Social & Cultural Mandate by broadening perspectives, fostering empathy, and deepening understanding of themselves and their community.
