The first section was an introductory session. A quick overview of what Itsekiri Nextgen project has in stock for the participants were made known to them. They were told the ground rules, this will help them know how to comport themselves when they are in for a session. They were made to know that our main focus is on literacy skills, digital skills, leadership skills, social and cultural skills as well as building their self confidence and self esteem.
They were exposed to the use of an anonymous box which they can place in their questions or contributions well written in a sticky note confidently without being ashamed or afraid. This they practiced at the end of the session.
Lessons Learnt: As long as they have a body, spirit and soul, they can be great leaders.
What went well: Interaction with the teens went well. They were very involved in the discussion.
