Summary

Session Delivery

.

The session was a non competitive sports session.  It was so scheduled to foster social interaction, and allow individuals of all skill levels to have fun and stay active without the pressure of competition. The participants came in with excitement but weren’t too certain of the kind of sports they were coming in for.

Debi Amadedon prepared their young minds of what non competitive sports entail and its benefits.

He had downloaded sports which were displayed. They were explained by the instructor in the videos. Debi Amadedon also did some explanations to clear where the  participants didn’t understand clearly.As the video played the participants were asked to do what was done there. A variety of exercises were done all with affirmative songs attached. These include dancing, gymnastics, ballet, yoga, hula hooping and general indoor exercises.

The key purpose of the session was to;

  • Promote enjoyment and reduce stress: Non-competitive sports are a way to have fun and destress through physical activity, as the main goal is the experience itself rather than winning.
  • Encourage physical fitness: They provide a way to stay active and healthy without the demanding pressure of competitive training.
  • Foster personal and skill development: They help participants learn and improve skills in a relaxed environment, emphasizing personal progression over performance metrics.
  • Encourage inclusivity and social interaction: By welcoming participants of diverse backgrounds and skill levels, these sports build a sense of community and allow for positive social interaction.
  • Prioritize participation over outcome: The emphasis is on being active and healthy, making physical activity accessible and less intimidating for a wider range of people.

The participants beamed with joy, having had a blast while learning and singing along to uplifting affirmation songs. The session was a perfect blend of fun and education, leaving everyone feeling energized and inspired.
