Session Delivery
The leadership session was a thought-provoking experience, centered on the core mandate of empowering participants to become inclusive leaders. The facilitator drove home the crucial message that everyone matters, regardless of their abilities or backgrounds. As future leaders, it’s essential to recognize the value of respect, kindness, and compassion in shaping the communities they will serve.
The facilitator shared an inspiring example of a NextGen member, Joy Patrick, who demonstrated exceptional empathy and kindness to a visitor seeking the Pessu community town hall. By offering her a seat and showing genuine concern, Joy embodied the spirit of community awareness and inclusivity.
The session highlighted the importance of understanding local dynamics, including environmental and civic awareness, safety and security, inclusion and diversity, education, and awareness. The facilitator emphasized that community awareness is not just about recognizing the challenges, but also about showing empathy and compassion to those around us, particularly in times of need.
As pace setters, the NextGen participants are poised to make a significant impact in their local communities. By raising awareness about local issues, they can empower community members to take informed actions and drive positive change. The session was a timely reminder that leadership is not just about titles or positions, but about making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
The facilitator’s message was clear: as leaders, they will be faced with countless opportunities to uplift and support those around them. By embracing inclusivity, respect, and kindness, they can create a ripple effect of compassion and understanding that will resonate far beyond their communities.

The session was a valuable step in preparing these young minds for the leadership tasks ahead, and it’s clear that they are ready to take on the challenge.
