Summary
The participants were introduced an application called canva which they used to design business card and children drawing book
Session Delivery
The lesson aimed to introduce children to the basics of graphic design using Canva, a popular design platform. The focus was on creating a business card and a children’s drawing book using Canva templates.
The objectives of the use of canva is to;
- Familiarize children with Canva’s interface and tools.
- Teach children how to use templates to create designs.
- Encourage creativity and self expression through design.
While the facilitator did the Introduction to Canva, a brief overview of Canva and its features was provided. As he browsed through the different features, he also made the participants do the same to make them familiar with these features.
Business Card Design: Children were guided on how to use Canva templates to design business cards.
3. Colouring Book Design: Children designed colouring Book using Canva templates.
Outcomes










1. Design Skills: Children developed basic design skills, including text formatting, image insertion, and color selection.
2. Creativity: Children expressed their creativity through their designs, showcasing their individuality.
3. Confidence: Children gained confidence in using digital design tools.
Challenges

Conclusion
The lesson was successful in introducing children to Canva and graphic design. With some adjustments, future lessons can be even more effective in fostering creativity and design skills.
